2. Housing matters

No further complaints have been raised about the water pressure/supply in the southern part of the state.  There were however issues raised regarding supply in the Fremantle House area.  Concerns were also raised about the heat of water in some blocks – too hot in some places and lukewarm in others.

The unused pram sheds have now been advertised to residents and the broken shed outside Northesk House has now been repaired.

A report back was given on the recent meeting with Veolia including on contamination of recycling facilities, the marshaling of the bins, the poor quality of the recycling facilities and the need for better public information on the rules around recycling.

There was a discussion on the issue of bulk waste collection on the estate including the possibility of a bulk waste collection point.

It was reported that the lock on the cycle shed near Collingwood House would be repaired later this week.

There are problems with the door entry system in Collingwood House and it may need replacing.  In addition one of the units inside the block is missing its cover and the cabling is exposed.

The issue of external Decent Homes works on Orion House was raised and it was agreed that this be raised with the Decent Homes team by Jitu and will Cllr. Sirajul Islam by Phil.

3. Anti-Social Behaviour

Committee members were reminded that the next Collingwood Estate Police Liaison meeting would be taking place at the hall at 19:00 on 18th January.

It was agreed that the issue of cars and associated large groups of youth congregating in some areas of the estate would be raised again with the police.  In particular concerns were raised about the area by Heathpool Court and Tyler House. It was suggested that the St. Peter’s Ward SNT engage in a door knocking exercise in these two blocks.

4. Future Meetings

It was agreed that the Neighbourhood Champion Chris Basford be invited to the January meeting and that Chris Weavers email him to this effect.

It was agreed that Sainsbury be invited to the February meeting and that in the meantime Chris Weavers email Owen Whalley and Rachel Blake to reiterate the Committee’s concern and to confirm that the Association’s initial response to the planning application remained current.
